Walking Amidst the Mist and Fog
This morning, I was suppose to clean the house but when I woke up we were surrounded by mist and fog. So we went on a walk instead. The colours in the river valley were beautiful and muted. A few of the trees were beginning to turn yellow. We are on the cusp of fall. This is my favourite time of year...

Boris and Kate on Father's Day
I completely forgot I had taken these photos of Boris and Kate on Father's Day after we got home from Elk Island National Park.
Mix Tape - You and Me
A few weeks ago, we spent Sunday at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. I always love discovering new musicians...

The White Fence (Over the Years)
Every year, I photograph Ben in front of the same white fence in our neighbourhood. It's a pretty incredible privilege to watch someone grow and change every day of their life. It's also pretty amazing to step back and see how your child has evolved over time. It seems like just yesterday that I took the first series of photos of Ben against the white fence...and now here we are, almost three years later...

Siblings - August 2013
I
took Ben and Kate outside this afternoon for a photo shoot. Ben sat nicely on the ground while Kate cried (she hates the grass). Last years photo shoot at this location was surprisingly a lot easier:
I got an almost identical shot of Ben last year. His face has matured so much since then:
I think Kate's next photo shoot will be taken somewhere without grass. The only way to stop her from crying was to give her a piece of candy to chew on (yes, I bribed her):
It was a challenging but fun afternoon with my two kiddos:

Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village
We spent a peaceful morning at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. Ben enjoyed playing in the dirt and Kate loved the chickens, roaming around freely.

Kitsilano Beach
On
the last day of our vacation in Vancouver, I took the kids down to the
beach for a photo shoot. It was cool and windy that morning and Kate,
who's usually my more compliant subject, wanted nothing to do with
having her picture taken...oh well. I guess it could be awhile before
both kids are happy in front of the camera together. Remember these?
As a side note, when Ben was the same age as Kate (14 months), I took these photos of him at Kitsilano beach. It's hard to believe he's almost two and a half years older now!
Part Two: Our New Sandbox - Ben and Kate at Play
Remember last summer when my brother built a sandbox for Ben and Kate? Well, we finally got our act together and filled it with sand awhile back. It's been the main attraction in our backyard ever since. In the afternoons, Ben, with his mismatched clothes and Kate, with her post-nap hair play under the spruce tree in the sandbox that Uncle Mike built.
