Will I Remember?

A decade or two from now, will I remember Ben, standing at the front window driving his cars back and forth on the windowsill?  Will I remember the sound of his infectious little giggle or his nonsensical babbling?  Will I remember that he calls jam, “jubby” or Buddy the cat, “Bobish”?  All of these moments, all of these seemingly mundane, glorious moments will slowly be replaced by new ones.  My toddler will morph into a child, an older Ben, a different Ben as time passes.  Sometimes I think back to a year ago and wonder if I really remember what life was like with a nine month old?  Do I remember all the little things he did that I loved or are they all just faded memories by now?  Life passes quickly and it feels like my baby is slipping away.  I love who he is now and I can’t wait to see whom he grows up to be, but sometimes I miss who he was.  Slow down little man, let's push pause for awhile, it’s going by way too fast...

Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

I’ll admit, I’ve had a hard time getting back into the swing of things since Boris went back to work.  Life is quieter, slower, a little less exciting.  Our calendar was so full throughout August that it took Ben and I awhile to get back into our groove at home alone together.  One of the things I’ve had a surprisingly hard time getting back into is blogging.  I took a little computer break in August (which was much needed and really quite wonderful).  But as a result, I’ve had difficulty finding the inspiration to sit down and share our lives once again.  We created so many wonderful memories this summer; I’m hoping to play catch up very soon.

In the meantime, when did this happen?  The leaves are quickly turning lovely shades of red, orange and yellow...

Happy Sixth Wedding Anniversary Boris

Six years ago, I married a man who has added so much richness and fullness to my life.  Boris has stood by my side through every obstacle and accomplishment we’ve encountered throughout our life together.  We work seamlessly as a team and grow closer to one another with each passing year.  Boris is the most amazing, dedicated father to Ben and I can’t imagine walking this path with anyone other than him.  Happy sixth wedding anniversary Boris.

Ben's Style - Summer 2011

Last week, Ben and I went to the library, and as I was unbuckling him from his car seat, I hear leaves rustling across the pavement and realized, “Summer is coming to an end”.  In May, I photographed Ben’s Style – Spring 2011 and was eager to do the same with his summer wardrobe.  Our summer passed quickly, especially August, so today I finally had the opportunity to photograph him in some of my favorite summer outfits.  By outfit number three, Ben was 100% done with this photo shoot.  He drove his little red car around, hoping I would get the hint, pack up my gear and take him home.

Ben has been wearing shorts almost every day since mid-May.  It wasn’t a particularly warm summer but he’s a hot kid.  I can probably count on one hand the number of times he wore pants in the last four months.  I love boys’ summer clothes.  Not only do I adore the designs and colors, boys’ shorts and shirts are so versatile and easy to mix and match.  We were trying out new combinations all summer long!

Without further adieu, here’s Ben is some of the summer clothes I’ll be sad to pack away in a few short weeks once the weather turns cold:

On Ben: Hoodie, Zara Baby. T-Shirt, Tea. Shorts, Nautica. Shoes, Dawgs.

On Ben: Shirt, Ben Sherman. Shorts, Baby Gap. Sandals, Joe Fresh.

On Ben: Polo, Tommy Hilfiger. T-Shirt, Roots. Shorts, Gymboree.

Part One: Camping at Elk Island National Park - Pictures

A week and a half ago, we spent 18 (exhausting) hours camping at Elk Island National Park.  I’m hoping to find a moment over the next few days to sit down and share our adventure.  In the meantime, here are a few pictures from our trip:
